The Government has announced that from December 14th 2007, ALL residential properties coming to the market will require a Home Information Pack (HIP), providing prospective buyers with legal and Energy Efficiency information (Energy Performance Certificates) in advance. The temporary “first day marketing provisions” have been extended to June 1st 2008. This means, if your property comes to the market before this date, you will be able to commence marketing immediately, as long as your HIP has been applied for, rather than having to wait until it is actually ready. Any property that comes to the market after June 1st 2008, will have to wait for a completed HIP before marketing can commence.
